Sapphire: The gem derives its name from the Greek sappherios meaning blue. Blue sapphires are the most common and are traditionally associated with wisdom, royalty, divine favor and celestial guidance. It is the stone of integrity. Many cultures prefer a sapphire engagement ring because the stone signifies, loyalty, commitment, honesty, mutual understanding and trust. Associated with the throat chakra, blue sapphire is beneficial to the thyroid and stimulates free expression, speech and communication. Sapphires come in many colors, including pink, yellow and orange. Different colors of sapphire have additional color energies but all are Stones of Wisdom. Yellow sapphire is stone of attracting financial wealth and bringing ideas to fruition. It stimulates the intellect which helps form ideas and goals, then focuses that intent through the Solar Plexus Chakra, “the will center” to manifest those goals
Lapis Lazuli: Meaning “blue stone” in Latin, Lapis Lazuli has been mined in Afghanistan since 8000 BC. Flecked with golden pyrite, lapis lazuli has always been a symbol of the starry night sky and the heavens. They used it for jewelry and ceremonial objects and pulverized it for pigments and cosmetics. This heavenly stone will often contain flecks of pyrite, which contrast beautifully with the stone’s rich blue color. Europeans ground the stone to create Ultramarine the most precious and expensive pigment available. European artists such as Giotto, Durer and Titian used this “Lapis Lazuli paint” sparingly, to adorn especially important religious figures and to render the heavens, as seen in Giotto’s famous Arena Chapel in Padua, Italy. Metaphysically, lapis lazuli promotes wisdom, good judgement, intellectual analysis and problem solving. A stone of truth, lapis lazuli aids in all forms of communication (spoke, written and spiritual) and enhances intellectual ability. It stimulates a desire for knowledge, truth and understanding, and aids the process of learning, which makes it a great stone for professionals and students.
Diamond: The stone of strength, clarity and truth, diamonds are the most durable gemstone and hardest mineral on Earth. Diamond is a stone that is used to bring energies of longevity, balance, clarity, intensity, success, and abundance. It also brings eternity, purity, and high frequency energy. It also is a stone of amplification, including thoughts, strengths, and weaknesses. They are high vibration stones that radiate Light energy and bring Light consciousness and are related to the crown chakra. Diamond is the birthstone for April.
